47 x 225mm Masonry Return Hanger R215mm, meticulously designed for a range of applications and installations similar to the standard Masonry Joist Hanger. The innovative return feature offers enhanced lateral support by wrapping around the rear of masonry or timber components. Standard configuration includes a 25mm drop on the return flange, while custom variations can be accommodated upon request. Experience a long-term safe working load of 5.4 kN.
Features- Constructed from pre-galvanized steel, 2.4mm thick
- Galvanized steel compliant with EN 10346 DX51D Z600
- Manufactured to meet EN 845-1:2013 standards
- Rigorously tested and certified by CERAM Research Ltd.
- Ensure the back plate of the hanger lies flush against the vertical masonry support
- Require a minimum of 3 courses (675mm of masonry) above the masonry flange
- Allow both supporting and upper masonry to mature before applying any loads
- Joist should be cut square and fit snugly against the back of the hanger, with a maximum allowed gap of 6mm
- Secure the side flanges with 30 x 3.75mm galvanized square twist nails or equivalent
- Enhance lateral restraint using heavy-duty straps
- Always securely fix or adequately embed the masonry flange, avoiding placement in dry slots
- Ensure compatibility of corrosion-resistant fixings – do not mix galvanized and stainless steel products
- Use mortar of correct strength as per British Standard guidelines
